Barcelona!
It all Started here…..
Your street photography journey always starts somewhere, mine started on a trip to Barcelona. It was my first visit to the city which now it’s one of my favourites.
I was in a bit of a transitional period in my photography, I’d just sold all my Canon full frame gear and bought the Sony nex-7. Sony at that time didn’t have many lenses and to be honest the ones they did have were pretty poor. I took the 18-200 all purpose lens for travel photography, it was a big silver lens but took ok quality photos.
Walking around the city I was supposed to be taking photos of Guaudi architecture but I couldn’t but help to notice how chic the locals were. Now by then I’d been a hobbyist photographer for about 3 years taking mainly architectural and landscape stuff. So how did I start?
Well……I sat down on a bench in the park and with my zoom lens starting snapping locals. The rest of the trip I mainly took photos of locals and started my Street Photography journey.
How did you start?
The photos are nowhere near my best but everyone starts somewhere and Street Photography is a lot about gaining confidence. This is where I got my confidence, don’t be afraid to use a zoom to start with.
This where it started but there is much more to come…..
